or PayPal to pay on-line: What do both of these services do? The essentially allow you to pay by credit card by sending an email. For small family businesses (like ours), it allows for us to offer credit card servicing for customers, where as before it was only cash transactions accepted. Are these intuitions safe? They are safe. Yaho.DirectPay is operated by Yahoo Inc. and HSBC bank, which is a very large back in the United States. PayPal is owned by eBay and is used as the back bone of their on-line auction business. PayPal is also used by thousands of merchants and millions of individuals around the globe. What do you need to use these services? You will need an email address and a valid credit card. What are the steps involved? Both of these services will require that you create a personal account profile It is an easy and free process. You will be asked to enter you email, contact information, and credit card information. From that point, an account will be assigned to you and you will be able to send a payment to anyone by using your email. PayPal also has an additional security step that requires to you validate information you will only be able to see from your credit card statement or on-line statement (they essential debit and credit a two dollar charge in order to give you a reference number that you will have to report back in to your account profile). Do I have to use one of these services? Absolutely not. While we do not have alternate facilities to take your credit card, we can accept a bank draw (wire transfer) or a certified check/money order sent to us.
