1. Where is Benalmadena or Costa Del Sol?

Benalmadena and Costa Del Sol are located in the south of Spain in Western Europe.  This area is famous for the amount of warm sunshine (typically over 300 days a year), beautiful beaches, and friendly Spanish culture.  Benalmadena Pueblo is quaint town that rests on the slope of a mountain that over looks the sea.   Arroyo de la Miel is a bustling village full of stores, cafes, restaurants and other services.  It is located on the foothills below Benalmadena Pueblo close to the sea.  Benalmadena Costa is the name for the area along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, below Benalmadena Pueblo and Arroyo De La Miel.  Benalmadena Costa is one of many major areas along the Costa Del Sol, which is an expansive term for the south coast of Spain.  Our vacation rentals are located in Benalmadena Costa, bordering Arroyo de la Miel.   For more information about this area click here, or you can see our maps.

2. What is the difference between staying at a vacation rental versus a hotel?

A hotel has room service, daily room cleaning, tourist facilities (bar, restaurant, etc.), and a 24 hour lobby.  It typically does not have a kitchen or facilities for cooking.  A vacation rental is like a normal residence.  It has a kitchen, dining area, and usually more space overall.  Most vacation rentals do not have air conditioning, which is not needed most of the time in the coastal areas.  Both hotels and vacation rentals typically have swimming pools.  Some benefits for staying at a vacation rental include:

1) more privacy
2) better prices or rates
3) more space
4) not having to leave the room every day for house cleaning
5) more flexibility with check-in/out and turnover days.

3. Is there any benefit renting directly from the owner?

Renting from the owner has certain advantages.  There is usually more flexibility in terms, dates, and rates when dealing directly with the owner.  Usually the rates are cheaper as there is not a third party charging an additional fee.  Special arrangements can also be made more easily through the owners.  In our case, we also include an Airport Pick-up service, which some agencies do not offer.

5. Can  I rent longer for a week or for long-term?

Yes.  In the past we have made arrangements for guests to stay many weeks and sometimes months.  Typically, guests that stay a long time negotiate a level of discount that meets their budget.  Please contact us and let us know what you are interested in doing and we will see if we can accommodate you.  Longer term stays will also involve an application and rental contract (both at no charge) process.

6. How do I make a reservation?

First decide which units interest you and what dates suit your need.  Next, you can fill out our Reservation Request Form here.  All requests are process in the order in which they are received.  A response will be send back to you in less than one working day.  At that point you can confirm the reservation by paying the deposit on-line, using PayPal or Yahoo.PayDirect, or you can contact the owner and arrange another form of deposit.  After your reservation is confirmed, those days will be blocked out for the selected unit(s).  You will need to indicate to the owner if airport pick-up is needed or if you will be meeting at the main entrance of the unit.  In our web site you can find maps and directions.  Cancellations can be made up to 45 days prior to the Check-in day, otherwise the deposit is forfeit.  The remaining balance is due before or on the arrival day.  This balance can be paid in similar fashion as the deposit.  For any other questions, please contact the owner.
